Our Southwold holiday cottage provides a special place to stay, perfect for breaks away from it all
– Mandalay sleeps up to four people, in two twin bedrooms.
Doors on the cottage’s seaward side open onto a wooden deck, ideal for breakfast on the beach and plenty of deckchair lounging.
In early 2013, broadband was installed, allowing guests Wi-Fi access. Mandalay also has a television with Sky Freesat, a DVD player and radio/stereo for playing CDs and connecting to iPod and MP3 players – plus well stocked book shelves for all ages and interests.
The cottage is double glazed, with gas central heating, so whatever the weather or season, you’ll always be snug inside.
As much as possible, the look and feel of the 1930’s style kitchen has been retained. It is now fully equipped with a gas oven, hob and grill, microwave, fridge freezer and range of culinary equipment and utensils.
A separate dining room, with double doors opening onto Mandalay’s verandah, offers inland views and a prime spot for enjoying East Anglia’s spectacular sunsets. This side of the cottage offers views across the harbour mouth to Walberswick, Dunwich and on clear days, Sizewell. It’s ideal spot for enjoying the sun later in the afternoon, or an evening barbecue.
The bathroom features a power shower and bath, plus a washbasin and loo. There is also a separate cloakroom off the dining room, with a loo and washbasin.
