Southwold’s town centre is just a short beach stroll away from Mandalay, and offers a wealth of places to eat
Alternatively, Southwold harbour is an even shorter stroll and is home to super fresh fish and chips at Mrs T’s.
A little further along the harbour you’ll find the Harbour Tearooms, and just beyond, the Harbour Inn, for a pint of Adnams in the sun. This is also a handy spot for lunch and evening meals.
In Southwold, you’ll never be short of places to eat – whether after fresh fish or shell fish (for which a short trip along to the harbour is a must), coffee and cake (we recommend visiting the friendly Coasters on Southwold high street, or treating yourself to a cream tea on Southwold Pier), a hearty pub meal (Walberswick also a good option, and only a quick ferry ride, walk or cycle ride away), or something more gastronomic (try Sutherland House, along Southwold High Street).
There are also several local takeaway and convenience options for staying put and enjoying Mandalay’s beautiful beach views – see our kitchen noticeboard for favourites!
